Nelson Spencer (he/him/his) is the Head of People Analytics at Sonos. In this role, he is responsible for leading the team responsible for driving data-driven people insights across the organization. The group serves as the employee’s voice to share actionable insights with executives and leaders that drive organizational strategies and business outcomes. Before Sonos, Nelson spent time at Wayfair, where he led the People Analytics team focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across the organization. The team was responsible for leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to answer questions about the culture of Wayfair’s global 20K+ organization. Nelson spent most of his career before People Analytics working in data analysis in professional sports, including Bloomberg Sports, Major League Soccer, and the Cleveland Guardians. Nelson completed Metis’ Data Science Bootcamp in New York City, holds an M.S. in Data Science from Elmhurst College, and a B.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, MA.
