He possesses seven years of experience performing reporting and analytics in a variety of fields, which include human resources, finance, and utilities. He develops and implements databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize reporting and statistical efficiency and quality. Other responsibilities include working with clients and their workforce data to implement and enable analysis and reporting.

Marcus R Holmes is a Certified Human Resources Professional by both the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Certification Institute. With over 24 years of HR experience, Marcus has enjoyed success in many areas of human resources, from employee relations and engagement to awe-inspiring recognition events. Marcus is a credible activist; cultural steward and employee relations consultant. He has served in many capacities during his almost 19 years with the City of Detroit—from consultant to recruiter to payroll manager to business partner to project manager to analytics specialist and now General Manager of Operations in the Policy, Planning & Operations function. He is responsible for creating and developing strategic initiatives that support the City’s vision of a great place to work and employer of choice and the development and monitoring of the department’s $14 million budget. His newest passion has led to standing up the City’s first talent and people analytics function whose aim is to help HR drive business outcomes through the use of data insights that support the City’s vision of becoming a great place to work and an Employer of Choice. “The HR Passion Guy” Marcus holds a bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from Davenport University, and he recently completed the inaugural cohort of Hacking HR, a community of business and HR leaders, HR practitioners, technologists, entrepreneurs, consultants whose purpose is ismple: TO CREATE THE BEST HR EVER. As an Author and an employee life coach, Marcus loves connecting people with their passion and purpose.
