3 Minutes With… Oliver Kasper, Director HR Processes, Systems & Analytics, Swarovski

In advance of his presentation at People Analytics World 2018 in April, Oliver Kasper shares a few thoughts on his experiences and predictions in HR Analytics...

For how long has your work involved analytics, either directly or in project leadership?

I started consulting on Analytics in 2010 and continued intermittently throughout my whole career.

For how long have you worked in the HR domain?

I have 17 years experience in the HR domain in several areas.

How well do you feel People Analytics is progressing?

It is progressing very well, especially during the last 2-3 years. Companies are starting to see the value of People Analytics, especially the move to evidence-based HR. With the availability of new technologies and increasing amounts of data, we're getting amazing traction in this area.

What have been the greatest challenges that you've faced within People Analytics?

The biggest challenge is getting enough funding for People Analytics at the outset, and this involves a clear stakeholder management plan even before you start your journey. Secondly, getting the right people is very difficult.

What are your predictions for 2018 and beyond? Where are things heading?

People Analytics will move organisationally step-by-step towards the centre of a CHR organisation, and the majority of initiatives will be triggered, implemented and measured via People Analytics.
