As People Analytics text analytics specialists we’ve learnt all sorts of hacks and work-arounds that are essential to doing good text analytics. In this session I will share some of what we’ve worked so that you can accelerate the development and deployment of great text analyses in your organisations or products.
Many analysts and the business-users they support will achieve seemingly amazing progress in the very early stages of starting with text analysis only to find that further progress is difficult. A lot of the challenge with text analysis is in the details. Unfortunately, employees don’t write in perfect, grammatically-correct sentences. In this session, I’ll explain how modern text analytics is done, describe some of the key issues you’ll face and explain ways of overcoming them.
This workshop will explore:
- What is text analytics?
- How is modern text analytics performed?
- What are the common issues that you’ll face?
- How do you overcome them?
- What solutions are available? How to choose which is right for your organisation?
- A high level understanding of text analytics
- A knowledge of how to set-up and run your text analytics project
- An understanding of likely challenges and how to overcome them
- An introduction to what’s available to help from R / Python packages, APIs, to fully developed solutions.
