Universal

Fri 29 April

14:30 BST

The last two years have seen a lot of change, and we’ve adapted our professional and personal lives in major ways. Organisations realised that many traditional practices no longer work, the leaders realised that distributed teams and remote work can be just as effective, employees realised they have the power, and everyone realised how important (and somewhat fragile) is the human element in the whole value creation chain. With volatility and unpredictability, came the desire for organisations to reduce ambiguity and increase control.

In turn, contrary to the intent, this desire increased the complexity of work environment. This complexity gets in the way of organisational agility and adaptability. Things change by the minute and thinking about long term seems to be a futile exercise. Organisations are embracing the agility (albeit forced) and are getting comfortable with occasional “rules-breaking” for the sake of accomplishing the intended outcomes.

This 90min workshop will explore:

  • The opportunity presented by the need to change and adapt
  • What might you be able to hack, and break barriers across the HR to support organisational change going forward.

Learning outcomes:

  • How to step into a role that combines the “hacker” (create) and “activist” (mobilise the ecosystem) mindsets
  • How to examine all the HR practices and processes to eliminate the bureaucratic bloat
  • Build the courage to stand up for your convictions and your knowledge
  • Take strength from seeing what’s coming around the corner to influence real change.
