3 Minutes With… Peter Cheese, CEO, CIPD

In advance of his presentation at People Analytics World 2018 in April, Peter Cheese shares a few thoughts on his experiences and predictions in HR Analytics...

For how long has your work involved analytics, either directly or in project leadership?

Have been advocating analytics in the human capital and organisational space for around 15 years, from my time at Accenture to my role at CIPD.

For how long have you worked in the HR domain?

7 years.

How well do you feel People Analytics is progressing?

Definitely making progress but a long way to go. Exciting developments around new tools and capabilities including AI, and more demand and expectation which has the opportunity to accelerate this agenda.

What have been the greatest challenges that you've faced within People Analytics?

Data and understanding from within the HR community.

What are your predictions for 2018 and beyond? Where are things heading?

Greater demand from reporting and compliance perspectives, but also growing debate about access and use of data about people and how HR needs to understand this as well from GDPR onwards to ethics and trust.
